Ashland Place Weekday Children’s Ministries is an outreach of Ashland Place United Methodist Church. We are located at 15 Wisteria Ave. Mobile, Alabama 36607. Our philosophy is reflected in our Weekday Ministries Mission Statement: The mission of Ashland Place United Methodist Weekday Children’s Ministries is to provide, in a Christian environment, opportunities for love, nurture, and education for children in our church and community. Sharing God’s love through our monthly chapel services led by our ministerial staff and our weekday staff is an integral part of this outreach.
Ashland Place Weekday Children’s Ministries began in 1971 with the Mother’s Day Out Program one day a week. Since that time, it has expanded to five days a week. Ages range from three months to two and one half years.
Ashland Place Preschool was added in the Fall of 1979. The Preschool offers classes for three-year-olds three and five days a week, and four-year-olds five days a week.
The hours for both programs are from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
We also offer Extra Magic Hours to accommodate families that need extended hours. This program is from 8:00-9:00 in the morning and 1:00-2:30 in the afternoon.
Ashland Place Preschool and Mother’s Day Out Programs’ School Year begins in mid-August and ends in mid-May. We offer limited summer sessions for those enrolled for the following school year.
Registration is held in late January or early February for the coming school year. We continue to add children during the school year when space is available.
The Weekday programs are under the direction of a Preschool Committee consisting of both church members and non-church members as well as an Advisory Committee of educators in the church.
